I dreamed of being a journalist, but when I was fourteen, my uncle convinced me that my career was at my fingertips. "Why attempt something new when you have the gift of musical talent?" So I took his advice, and pursued a long career in music. I taught music seventeen-years overseas at American International Schools in China and India, traveled the world, and lived a fast, and exciting life.
Upon returning to Halifax in 2015, I continued with my first love, writing. I joined WFSN, took many writing courses and workshops, and worked with Cooper Lee Bombardier, a writing coach and mentor for one year while writing my memoir, Dancing with the Marigolds: My Twelve-Year Journey in India.
From 2022-2024 , I wrote regular columns for various magazines in Nova Scotia; At Home on the North Shore, My Children, and Sea Nova Scotia. While writing these articles, I met many people, and was fortunate to learn heaps about my home province, Nova Scotia.
My debut book, Dancing with the Marigolds: My Twelve-Year Journey in India is now published and available at Dartmouth Book Exhancge, Village Emporium, La Have Bookstore, and on Amazon,
I am currently working on a new novel, and a short story collection.

I am an adventurer at heart. I feel energized when I am outdoors, hiking or walking. I have walked two Caminos in Spain and one from Halifax to Mahone Bay, and five days walking The P.E.I Island Walk. Walking frees my creativity, inspirations come easily on the trails.
My love for music has led me to another love, dance. In India, dancing

II write. I continue to take writing courses and am working on my second book. I have three beautiful grandchildren. I teach piano, still walk long distances, and dream... and the stories continue to percolate.

Such a great read! Trish gives such an honest and realistic account of her time in India. It relates not just to India but to any of us taking on the unknown and stepping out of our comfort zone. The challenges she faces and her adaption into a foreign culture is told honestly and with humour, it gives the reader a real appreciation for India and the people.

This a was a great read, full of the thrills and adventure of a new country explored. Joudrey tells a wonderful tale which spans the vast emotional rainbow and keeps us engaged with the many conflicts born from two different worlds meeting.
